Nothing But Nets

April 25, 2008 marks the first ever World Malaria Day. The United Nations Foundation’s Nothing But Nets campaign is teaming up with millions of Americans to take action and help cover a continent. It’s never been easier to send nets and save lives.

So what can you do? In recognition of World Malaria Day, we are encouraging you and your NETwork to get involved and host a NETS Challenge between April 18-April 25!

Nets are an important part of many sports - basketball, soccer, hockey, tennis, badminton, lacrosse, etc. And, nets are an important part of the United Nations Foundation’s Nothing But Nets campaign. For just $10, you can send an insecticide-treated net to protect an African child from malaria. This year, Nothing But Nets seeks to bring sports and malaria prevention together to raise funds for life-saving bed nets for children in Africa.

Host a 3 vs. 3 basketball tournament, a volleyball game, or even a 5K race with a net for the finish line! Be creative in planning a NETS Challenge to raise funds and awareness for malaria prevention, while getting active and having fun with family and friends!
