Chicago students rise to the Challenge!

Submitted by Theresa Herget on September 11, 2008

This week, Nothing But Nets and the Illinois Lt. Governor, Pat Quinn, launched the Chicago Elementary School Challenge!  Students from across the Chicagoland area will be teaming up with their classmates to raise funds and awareness for malaria prevention.  With the help of their teachers, students will create classroom Netraiser Teams

The team with the most funds for malaria raised after December 19th will win a laptop for each student and the teacher, a pizza party, and an assembly for their entire school with Nothing But Nets spokespeople, such as MLS and NBA stars!

This challenge will give Chicagoland students the opportunity to show that one classroom can make a difference – and we are confident that they will do just that!  If you are a teacher, principal, or student in the Chicagoland area, we encourage you to join us and participate in the challenge! And if you can’t join a team, you can still sponsor your favorite student or teacher and send a net and save a life! Click here for details, resources, and to sign up.

We’re so excited to begin this competition with an amazing group of students, teachers and principals. Stay tuned for updates as the Challenge begins!
