A Mother's Day Message

Motherhood - from start to finish - is miraculous. For me, being a mom (I have a 2 1/2 year old and one on the way) is incredibly joyful, humbling, empowering, tiring and... frightening. Frightening because I - like all moms and dads - love and cherish my son and daughter-to-be so greatly and the reality is that I have limited control over their health, happiness and future.
Advocacy for Malaria Prevention in Hotlanta!

Recently my colleague Drake Carden and I flew to Atlanta to attend the World Leadership Conference hosted by Usher’s New Look Foundation. Seventh and eighth graders from all over Atlanta came to learn about New Look’s Powered by Service initiative, which teaches young people to identify their special talent, pinpoint an issue in their community, develop strategies to address the problem, and implement a solution to help others.
A Father’s Day Realization

Happy (belated) Father’s Day! I hope you all did something fun. My husband, 18-month-old son and I spent most of the day hanging out in our backyard. We played in the kiddie pool, blew bubbles and enjoyed a good old American BBQ. It was a great day, with one exception: the dang mosquitoes!
