Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says children dying from malaria is intolerable
Submitted by Elizabeth McKee Gore on October 12, 2007
On Thursday, the UN Foundation hosted a table of faith leaders at a dinner during the leadership forum of the National Association of Evangelicals. The key note speaker was Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon of the United Nations. In his speech, he focused on the Millennium Development Goals and the role of Faith groups in successfully achieving those goals. I was moved by the Secretary-General's apparent worry that most of the countries in Sub Saharan Africa were not at the half-way mark to achieving those goals. He highlighted malaria and said, "It is intolerable that children die of malaria. It is a moral scar on our conscience."

Hi Elizabeth Gore I agree with UN SG Ban Ki-moon when he says it is intolerable... God created the world and all it's content, but commended Man to dominate over all that is found on earth. The insecticide treated bed net is one of the best inventions in the field of disease prevention, and should be actively encouraged. Keep up NDZULO jt_ndzulo@yahoo.co.uk
