"The Hills" Whitney Port and friends fundraise for Nothing But Nets

Combining their experiences in entertainment, fashion and professional sports, three friends, Ben Tenzer, Michael Tellem, and Whitney Port (from MTV’s reality show "The Hills") recently teamed up to save lives from malaria.  A week ago, they held a fundraiser for Nothing But Nets in New York City!

The birthday party/fundraiser was hosted at Il Bastardo, an Italian Steakhouse & Wine Bar in the heart of Chelsea. In order to attend the event, Ben, Mike, and Whitney asked friends to make a $50 donation to Nothing But Nets. About 100 guests attended and enjoyed an open bar, appetizers, a gift bag and a raffle including exclusive sports memorabilia and fashion items. 

Nothing But Nets Executive Director Elizabeth Gore shared a few words at the event, and the Nothing But Nets team was thrilled with the attendance and enthusiasm from the guests.  By the end of the night, the event hosts and hostess raised $5,400 for bed nets!  Thank you to Ben, Michael, and Whitney for supporting the campaign and saving lives!
