Kenya

Together with UNHCR, we have identified 4 camps in Kenya with the highest number of deaths from malaria and most immediate need for bed nets for its refugees. Many of the refugees living in Kenya have fled the conflicts in Somalia and Sudan. Kenya itself has gone through tumultuous times following the general elections in 2007. Heavy flooding in 2006 has increased the health risks for refugees as the standing water is a breeding ground for malaria-carrying mosquitoes.

Kenya's refugees largely come from Somalia, Sudan and Ethiopia.
