Nothing But Nets™ Comes to Philadelphia!
Thank you Philadelphia!
From start to finish, Philadelphia proved to be an extremely welcoming city for the Nothing But Nets™ campaign. We were so happy with the turn-out at all four of our events, and the involvement and interest of people all over the city. Hundreds of messages of hope were written to be sent to Africa alongside bed nets. More than $1,000 was donated on the spot at our events by generous people wanting to make a difference immediately. Many of you came across our bed net display or were photographed with our mosquito mascot.

Philadelphia allowed us the chance to partner with so many amazing groups of people who were willing to give their time and effort for malaria prevention. Partners included Bishop Johnson and the people of The United Methodist Church, the Mayor’s Office of Faith-Based Initiatives, student groups at the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University, Imhotep Charter School, the Governor’s Office, the Department of Health, and Mann Elementary School. We even got a chance to speak with Mayor Nutter himself!
Although our city tour has come to a close, we look forward to working with the greater Philadelphia area again soon. Come back to this page from time to time for information on future events in Philadelphia. We thank you for a fantastic city tour and look forward to seeing all of you again soon!

Nothing But Nets™ National City Tour Background
Last year, the Nothing But Nets™ campaign traveled to ten cities to encourage business leaders, city officials, faith leaders, students, athletes, youth, and sports fans among others to raise awareness and funds for the fight against this deadly disease. The first year of the city tour culminated in New York City on April 25, 2008 – the first-ever World Malaria Day. Nothing But Nets™ is now entering the second year of its city tour, targeting new cities to work with local communities to build momentum for the global effort to fight malaria.
