The Wasserman Foundation
The Wasserman Foundation became a partner of the Nothing But Nets™ campaign in early 2007, providing a grant to the campaign, helping to ensure that every $10 donation from individuals goes directly to covering the cost of purchasing a life-saving bet net, distributing it, and educating families on its use. Nothing But Nets™ has worked with the Wasserman Foundation as well as the Management division of Wasserman Media Group to engage with professional athletes in the National Basketball Association and Major League Soccer. Such players include Dwayne De Rosario, who is a Nothing But Nets champion and traveled to Mali in December 2007 to see the impact of the malaria and bed nets firsthand, as well as NBA players Brandon Roy, Jordan Farmar, Jason Kapono, and Mike Miller, who all made personal donations to Nothing But Nets™ during NBA All-Star 2007.
Since 1952 the Wasserman Foundation has consistently delivered financial resources to organizations focused on advancing and promoting education, environmental responsibility, health and welfare, and the arts. With a diversified list of recipients, the Wasserman Foundation continually strives to partner with groups that are committed to assisting those less fortunate, and bettering the community at large. From its flagship initiatives including the Wasserman Scholars education program and the historic partnership with the Jules Stein Eye Institute, to supporting new initiatives such as Team HEAL, the Wasserman Foundation donates to causes that directly impact society and represent the family’s passions.
